Can You Prove Your Personal Injury Case After Being Hurt In A Truck Accident?

Law Blog

As a trucker, you rely on your truck to make a living and provide for your family. Being hurt in an accident can limit your ability to do so, which is why you should be compensated for your pain and suffering if you weren't at fault. Wondering if you can prove your personal injury case? Consider these points to help make a determination:

You Can Prove Truck or Bodily Damage

One of the best ways to prove that you deserve compensation for the pain and suffering you're experiencing due to the truck accident is to provide photo evidence of truck damage, bodily injury, or both. If there are any major dents or other kinds of damage found on the body or trailer of your truck, take clear pictures of each area that's affected both before and after having the damage fixed.

If you are bruised, have broken bones, or sustain other injuries that are visible, it's important to take photos of yourself as soon as possible after the accident to help prove the injuries. Take photos every few days as you heal to document your recovery progress so it can be used by your attorney to build a strong case.

There are Witnesses Who Saw What Happened

If any witnesses were at the scene and saw how your accident happened, they may be willing to provide your lawyer with a statement that helps prove neglect on the other party's part. If the accident happened in a public place where shops are located, take the time to go back to the scene and leave fliers at the stores explaining the incident and asking witnesses to step forward and call you or your attorney.

If the accident happened in a residential area where houses are found, head back to the area and knock on a few doors to see if anyone witnessed the accident. If so, you can ask them to write a statement for you to share with your lawyer.

Your Doctor is Willing to Provide a Report

If your injuries were serious enough to see your doctor after the incident and they find that those injuries are serious enough to treat, you can have them write an official report about the injuries to your attorney so it can be used as evidence in your personal injury case. The doctor can describe whether they think your injuries are consistent with your version of how the accident happened, and provide some insight into the depth of your injuries and how long it will take you to heal.

With these considerations in mind, you may be able to help your lawyer put together a winning personal injury case when all is said and done. Contact a law office like Carter & Fulton, P.S. for more information and assistance.

Noni and the Accident

My name is Noni. When I was in college, I was hit by a car while crossing the street. My life was never in danger, but I did break a few bones and had a lot of huge medical bills. I was hoping I wouldn't have to get involved with an attorney, but unfortunately, it came down to that. I used a family friend who is an accident attorney to get some compensation. A few years later, I was hit while riding my bike and had to go through the same process. I suppose I'm lucky to be alive. And it's thanks to accident attorneys that I have been able to put my life back together. I started this blog as a way to let others know just how much lawyers can help you in certain situations.
